HIDDEN GEM IN CHINATOWN!
This is more of a "hole-in-the-wall" kinda place -- it's a small corner store, with very limited seating, but the line that was going out the door at all times on a sweltering summer day said a lot.
I didn't get a chance to try any of the food, but the smoothies are SO GOOD. Get the Watermelon or Mango for only about $3 each -- they come in soup takeout containers so the portions are HUGE (you'll need 2 hands to carry these bad boys). This is the perfect summer drink; refreshing, healthy, and they come out really quick too. -

The Good: This is a very good Chinese restaurant and take out place. And this may "trigger" some people but for a Chinese take out place, I find this place to be immaculate and much more sanitary than many you'd come across. And the people who work here are much friendlier, personable, helpful and attentive than most other Chinese take out eateries. Especially the man who I assume, owns the place. I feel bad that I didn't get his name but he is super nice, polite, helpful and makes me love frequenting this joint. He also really explains what you are consuming if you have any questions or don't know.
The food here is pretty good to very good. I am a sucker for breakfast and it doesn't take a whole lot to satisfy me when it comes to breakfast, so their breakfast menu is TOP NOTCH and so satisfying for me. Everything else I've tried is good but is nothing that I can say is excellent or the best in town. At the same time, you simply can't go wrong with anything at this place.
The menu is very expansive and there's a plethora amount of food to choose from. Very large menu, more than most other spots. Hong Kong style too.
It's very affordable! Which is ALWAYS a big plus in my book.
The serving sizes are BIG, much bigger than I thought. No complaints.
The place is no frills but its very nice to eat here. Very clean, always kept and pleasant.
The Bad: Honestly, I can't say anything bad about the place. Maybe except that the food isn't out of this world but like I've mentioned, the food is definitely good and worth the price you pay for the amount you get.
The Ugly: No ugliness.
-Affordable, large portions
-Owner is so friendly, welcoming and helpful
-A large selection of foods on the menu and great breakfast too
-Very clean and sanitary place
One of my favorite Chinese restaurant/take out places -

Surprisingly good traditional Chinese lunch food. Boss is a very nice guy. If he sees you struggling with the menu, he loves to make recommendations. His last recommendation was quite good and my friend got the exact same thing and enjoyed it as well! Beef chow fun was on point. Fish cake chow fun is also quite good. Fish cakes are made on premises.
FYI: They do not have MSG! None whatsoever! -

Very reasonably priced dumplings and nice staff. They seemed to cook up the dumplings as you order them so you have to wait a bit, but the tradeoff is you get piping hot dumplings. They do not have any hot chili oil only Sriracha and soy. Also, didn't like styrofoam used for everything, but I'm sure that's part of the reason they keep everything so cheap.
CASH ONLY (but so inexpensive) and they stop taking order about 15 minutes before they close. -

A very homey and cheap eating spot right when you get off East Broadway's F train station and turn a corner. I come here every so often with my parents to have lunch because it's pretty close to the train, and the owner at the counter is very friendly.
Our go-tos that I recommend are the chow ho fun with fish cakes and stuffed eggplant. The stuffed eggplant is a common dim sum dish stuffed with a minced shrimp piece inside (looks kinda like a sandwich I guess!). They fry their eggplant well so the skin is crispy, and the sauce is just right. As for the chow ho fun with fish cakes, I don't think it's on the menu (?) but it's basically the beef chow fun replacing the beef with fishcake. They fry their ho fun very well and as greasy as it is it's sooo yum.
Overall, their food can be pretty dense and greasy, but it's great to enjoy once in awhile and it's cheap!
